If you are not sure which of these you need, the short version is that heating and cooling cover your home, commercial covers a building, and refrigeration covers anything keeping product cold. Residential & Commercial

Heating & Furnaces

Most homes in Metro Vancouver still run on a gas furnace, and most furnace calls come down to one question: is this worth repairing, or has it reached the end. A fifteen year old unit needing a heat exchanger is a very different conversation from a five year old one with a failed igniter. We will tell you which of those you have rather than quoting a replacement by default.

Residential & Commercial

Air Conditioning

Central air and ductless mini splits. The most common mistake in residential AC is oversizing: a unit that is too large cools the air fast, shuts off before it has pulled any humidity out, then starts again. That short cycling costs more to run and leaves the house feeling clammy. Sizing comes from a load calculation, not from whatever tonnage was there before.

Year-Round Comfort

Heat Pumps

A heat pump heats and cools, which means one system instead of two. They lose efficiency in deep cold, and Vancouver rarely gets there, so BC's mild coastal winters suit them better than almost anywhere else in Canada. For a lot of homes here a heat pump replaces the furnace and the air conditioner in a single move.

Rooftops & Warehouses

Commercial HVAC

Rooftop units, custom ductwork, make-up air, and maintenance contracts. Commercial work is rarely difficult because of the equipment. It is difficult because the building is occupied, the roof access window is short, and the schedule belongs to somebody else. Sheet metal is fabricated in house rather than waiting on a third party shop.

Restaurants & Food Service

Commercial Refrigeration

Walk-in coolers, freezers, and display cases for food service operators. Refrigeration is a separate trade ticket from HVAC and most heating companies subcontract it. Ed and Larry hold it themselves, which is the difference between a cooler failure being answered by the people who installed it and being handed to whoever happens to be free.

Priority Response

Emergency Service

Priority response during business hours. No heat in January and a failed walk-in cooler are not problems that wait for a scheduling window, so those calls go to the front of the queue. Vans are stocked, so common failures can often be resolved on the first visit rather than needing a second trip for parts.
